Better performer than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 in making ?
OnePlus Open more "Durable & Cheaper" than Z Fold 5 ?
Tech Nova
The upcoming OnePlus Open, the maiden foldable from OnePlus, may have proven to be more durable than the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, according to a leakster. In lab tests, the OnePlus Fold withstood 400,000 folds, as claimed by tipster Max Jambor. The device reportedly underwent rigorous testing and is expected to last up to 10 years, withstanding 100 folds a day. The Oppo Find N3 Flip was also rated for 400,000 folds, while the Galaxy Z Fold 5 promises only up to 200,000 folds.
On X (formerly Twitter), Jambor posted, "#OnePlusOpen has apparently been put through a lot of testing. You can open and close it for at least 400,000 times which is equivalent to like 100 folds a day for up to 10 years."
OnePlus teased its first foldable during the OnePlus 11 launch event earlier this year with the statement, "We OPEN when others FOLD." It is speculated that the foldable device may be similar to the Oppo Find N2, as both companies are part of Chinese tech giant BBK Electronics.
The leakster's claim of the OnePlus Open surviving 400,000 folds highlights the company's commitment to developing a durable foldable device. The device's success in lab conditions, coupled with its expected longevity, may attract tech enthusiasts searching for high-quality, long-lasting devices.
